Going from strength to strength aboard his WR450F machine, Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro 2 Team rider Loic Larrieu earned a spot on the Enduro 2 podium for the fourth time this season at a muddy GP of Sweden. Also a contender for the top three in Enduro 2 on both days of competition in the Swedish mud, Cristobal Guerrero earned his first podium result for the season on day two, securing third after the disqualification of Alex Salvini.

For the third time this season riders were faced with wet and muddy track conditions in the Enduro World Championship, this time at the GP of Sweden in Enkoping. With rain falling heavily throughout the opening day’s competition the soft Swedish terrain quickly became cut up, making the course extremely technical.

Posting the fastest time outright in Friday evening’s dry Super Test, Loic Larrieu again demonstrated the potential of the revolutionary new WR450F machine. Again fast during the first full day on competition, Loic held a strong runner-up position in Enduro 2 for the most part of the day. Making a small mistake in the final enduro test he ended up third – an extremely hard fought podium result.

Eager to challenge for the Enduro 2 podium again on day two, the Frenchman was left with a mountain to climb after a crash in the opening extreme test saw him loose almost half a minute to the Enduro 2 class frontrunners. Despite this misfortune Loic pushed hard for the rest of the day, winning the last motocross test. He wrapped up the GP sixth in the class.

Larrieu’s Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro 2 Team partner Cristobal Guerrero was fast and consistent throughout the event, despite hugely challenging conditions during both days in Sweden. Putting in numerous top three special test times the Spaniard remained a strong contender for the Enduro 2 podium throughout the weekend. Fifth on day one, Cristobal provisionally finished fourth on day two but advanced to third after Alex Salvini’s disqualification by race organisers.

With five rounds of the 2016 Enduro World Championship now completed, Loic Larrieu sits fourth in the Enduro 2 championship standings, only four points behind second-placed Mathias Bellino. His teammate Cristobal Guerrero currently sits sixth in Enduro 2.

The 2016 FIM Enduro World Championship will now move to Gordexola in Spain for round six of the series on July 2/3.
